Happy New Year 2013 Everyone
This year on New Years
I wanted a fun post
So I decide to post the things
I have changed this year...
Out with the Old and In with the New!!!
I am sure there has been more then
What I have posted here
But these are the ones that really stuck out to me
And these items really show my age as well ... Yikes!!
The first is :
Bowls:
I have had these Mushrooms design bowls
Since my wedding in 1982
They are real Pyrex!!!
Not Knock offs..
Did we know what knock offs were
Way back then?
I had the lids to go with all three sets
Until our return home from
Berlin, Germany
Where we were stationed for 4 years
All the lids gone on arrival...
I have now replaced with brand spanking new
Pampered Chef models
Bamboo and Stainless Steal
The next item I also received for my wedding back in 1982
A Crock Pot:
This crock pot is so very well used and loved
I just hate to see it go
But it has recently started to burn my
Home Made Chicken Noodle Soup
I cannot have that happen
So Christmas Black Friday brought to me
A new Replacement $10.00 Crock pot.
They just don't feel the same...
All nice and shiny and Bright
The next item on my list is a more personal item
But I seriously wouldn't be giving this up
If they didn't stop selling part of it..
The part you need the most too.. Yikes!! What!!
I must say thou the new Version
Given to me by my daughter
Was a huge difference too
It worked awesome
Why had I never changed or tried new ones???
I like my RUT!! that's why.. Silly me
My Razor:
Cannot get the blades anymore..
WHAT!
WHAT!
crying face...
Can you believe this
Forever I have had these items it is so hard
To let them go
Even know they have been replaced they still live in my cupboards
I cannot let go
They lasted longer then the Marriage did by many years...
Please my friends give me strength to let go of my past
And move onto the future..
In more ways then just items.
In my thoughts, in my actions
In People who aren't good in my life
In my Hair Style at the very least
Please make this a year for me to try new and fun things
And live life more.
I hope the same for you too...
Also am I the only person who saves these?
My Desk Calendars with my years worth of history in them
I think these are the new Smash books don't you?
They have everything I have done for a year in it.
What better journal...
I hope at least last years can be my first one
What a fun way for my kids to later read what
My daily life was all about
We live apart...
They really have no idea..
Tell me is this a good idea?
Should I work on this thru the year?
All in all
Out with the OLD In With the NEW
At my house this year..
Happy New Year and good luck with all the resolutions you take on
Lots of change in store for me and the boys this year
Be Safe
DeeDee
P.S. Our secret >>>I still have the toaster from my wedding day
and it is still working well..
Not all change has happened yet... hehehe!

Yes, sometimes we do need to let go of stuff that no longer works for us or no longer has any meaning. Wishing you all the best as you make good changes in your life. I hope that also means you will be blogging more and sharing with all of us. Have a healthy, happy, peaceful wonderful new year filled with possibility and opportunity. Blessings, Tammy
Here's hoping for a happy, healthy, and creative year to come for you. And yes, I keep my calendars too!

GREAT post. Out with the old and in with the new. I get "emotionally attached" to STUFF. How is that so? I have STUFF (mostly clothes, believe it or not) that are about 30 years old and I just can't part with the holes! Haha.

Hehe what a brilliant idea to compare the old and the new you don't always realize the differences until they are sat next to one another, although I must say I quite like the retro mushroom pattern on the bowls. I hope the new year is a happy one for you

Hi DeeDee,
What a wonderful new year post for change. It seems letting go of what we are used to, is very hard. But change can be really good too. Love your pics of the old and new. I also keep my past planners for a few extra years before they go away. And, I do keep calenders that hang on the wall with amazing pics forever. I always think I will frame a few pics, but never do. Maybe someday I will get to that!!
Wishing you a wonderful new year and great joy in your new directions. Blessings to you.
Hugs, CM
That was one great toaster! Cripes they don't make them like they used too! I save my early calenders too! Good luck on my dress form giveaway!

Change - get rid of the old! I have never in my life saved a calendar from one year into the next. As soon as the New Year rolls in, out goes the old personal calendar. I would never think that anyone would be interested in seeing what I've done. How many appointments I had for work, business meeting, dentist, doctor appointmens or Vet appointments - anything I do that I needed to put in a calendar.
Work on your Blog...it will be stories in your own words...thoughts, hopes, wishes and dreams - all YOURS! That's something you can leave behind for others or allow them to read NOW!

As a crafter its hard not to keep everything in case you can use it in a project, repurpose it etc. but it is a great feeeling to get rid of stuff and have space.
