A Wedding Gift with Family History

I made this cross with mementos from the Mothers in our family and one item from a Grandfather (my father) for my daughters wedding...The wedding didn't take place like planned but will in the future..Thus the meaning of the Soul Mates in the center. The watch parts are from her Grand-fathers watch, the string of pearls is a necklace from her Great-Grandmother, the silver gem button upper right corner is from the jacket of her Great-Great-Grandmother, the wedding couple is from her Grandmothers jewerly box, the silver button in the center is what I used to adorn her other wedding items...the silver hearts are from me ( her mother)...it signifies the hearts of a mother and daughter......always linked...love one another always.....

Where is Everyone.....

Oh wait...no one has been here since I have been on vacation for a week now....well needed and sad to see it go...I traveled up north to see friends and family...My Grandkids are getting so big and such beautiful souls. Loved being with them . My friends, I haven't seen in some time. Dinner was great, happy smiley faces, I really miss those guys. And Miss Nita, I had so much fun there I didn't want to leave at all... I love the scrapbook stores by her house....could make some really great sutff if I lived in Whicita, KS.....lol...my garden is getting up there too..feel like I missed its childhood almost...I need sleep..


But back to the grind which means back to crafting too so stay tuned for some fun things.

I took this picture of a tea cup my daughter and I share on certain holidays...She lives up north and I live in the south....We each get out our cup and share a special drink.. My Baby Birdie

Momma did good...we have three baby birdies in our tree nest. They are so cute. And my gardens are doing awesome , from my vegatables to my flowers. Hope the Texas summer heat doesn't come along to and wreak havec on all of it...I will enjoy the spring beauties for as long as I can...thanks for sharing a look with me.

My Garden Updated

My Friend Tami aka CraftyTami was asking for updated pictures of my garden so here they are...Lucky loves to be in my garden and the sprinklers...My herb garden has a angel to look over it.. this is the first year I have grown one in Texas...everything is different here especially how early the planting season starts.. I already have recieved about 15 strawberries and 1 small tomato...so if nothing else comes it was a small success..grow yourself some thing fun today.....

Orange Sugar

I have a friend named Barb who lives in California and grows oranges...every year around my birthday she sends me a case of them..this year I decided to see what all I could make using my oranges. Orange sugar is so very good on toast cereal, in coffee any where you want to use sugar really..so simple to make too.

To make:

Grate off only the orange part of the rid with a small grater onto a plate...in a small bowl put one cup sugar and the grated pieces from one orange..mix well..spread onto a cookie sheet to dry..store in air tight container ...use as needed...very yummy indeed. Hope you give it a try and enjoy its yummy taste...

Remote Control Caddy

I made this remote control caddy for my daughters fiance...as I was working on it I realize man this would look great to hold my paint brushes in my craft room....lol...yeah I think I need to make him another. This is so my decor and it transpired all on its own...I will seal it with my favorite clear medium now...Modge Podge.

Bag for Magnetic Paper Dolls

I made this bag for my grand-daughter to carry her magnetic paper dolls in the car...and she can use it for what ever else she would like...

Recipe Box for My Girl Ashley

When my girls get thier first homes I make them a special recipe box. This is the last of my three girls...(of course now I have a grand-daughter..) And I had mixed feelings...the list of things they get is this. The recipe box, a book with family recipes inside hand written by my mother and a marble rolling pin ( has many uses...lol)..I added 4 different kinds of magnets too...so my last one this is and all so different to fit the personalities of the girls..

1 Wood Recipe Box
Paint in your choice of color
Sticker paper
Clear sealant spray
Modge Podge
Sticky backed Felt

P C Crafter Artist Used: Assorted Artists

1.) Paint recipe box inside and out, let dry
2.) Measure box for graphics sizes
3.) Print all graphics on sticker paper, spray with sealant and cut out.
4.) Apply graphics as desired to decorate your recipe box.
5.) Seal entire box with Modge Podge and let dry thoroughly.
6.) Fit sticky backed felt to box bottom.

Add decorated dividers and PC Crafter monthly recipe cards for a complete set…

Something for My Granddaughter....

I made these magnetic paper dolls for my Granddaughter..the tray has 4 interchagebale backgrounds, three different dolls....with a boy coming soon...and the box has a magnet on the back so it also sticks to the tray making it a perfect toy for travel... I hope her and I have fun with this on my vacation...

Metal Cookie sheet
Spray Paint in desired color

Paper Dolls:

1.) Size dolls to fit inside metal tin. Size clothes and print onto magnetic sheets.
2.) Cut out all pieces, may embellish top pieces as desired

Tin Tray and Scenery:

1.) Spray paint metal cookie sheet, let dry, spray with a clear sealant
(This step is optional, may leave tray silver also).
2.) Size Graphics to fit full page with different sceneries.
3.) Place inside cookie sheet

Storage Tin for Dolls:

1.) Measure Lid of tin
2.) Size graphics to fit tin top, print onto sticker paper, cut out and apply to lid of tin
3.) Embellish as desired
4.) Place large magnet on backside of tin.
