Snow Day

About a week ago...

we had a thunderstorm....

thunder and lighting....

well that turned into a ice storm

which turned into a snow storm

Wasn't a good day for me..

I took a tumble down my driveway

but the dogs had a blast

running around the back yard

Bentley checking it out

Lucky heading back in for a bit..poor old man

Both surveying the same spot..

Lucky wandering around to all his favorite spots

No Mom I don't wanna come in yet...

Mom... I am having fun really

Bezerker time....

he can run so fast and was tearing around like crazy in the snow

Mom do I have to come in.... I want to stay out and play..

Pleeezzzeeee!

Bentley spent a good part of the day outside... he just loved it

I was on the couch with the heating pad

while my Home Made Turkey Noodle Soup

So glad we are back to a bit warmer weather now..

it just isn't supposed to be that cold in

Texas

Paper Roses

Well I finally got a few minutes to sit and play with some paper....

I got a few roses done...

but serioulsy need to work on these more...

I love them....

and I need to make more

I did mess one up....

but I am gonna try some glimmer mists to try to save it

stay tuned for further updates on this one

I need more for Valentines Day thats coming up

Railroad Spike Cross

My friend Dana is making some fun things from old railroad spikes...

she has a few designs....

but guess what!!!...

I didn't take pics of them before I passed them along...

what is up with that???...

but here is the one I got to keep..

I loved the black and the details she added to this one

the others were rusted, with barb wire and leather

Needle Keeps

I have taken a fun facination with needle keeps lately for some reason....

I am making a project from and old quilt and got the idea to make me some Shabby Chic needle keeps..

I love them and how they look

This one is done match book style

and as you can see will hold a few special needles

that you can tuck away in your smaller kits

to carry along with you

This one is so darling, spiffed up with some fancies

And it has pages to hold them all seperately

for your different needs

but is still small enough to carry along

I recieved a needle keep as a gift awhile back and must say..

I just loved it and Iuse it often

Canister Redo

A while back I purchased some Canisters at a local thrift store... I liked the style, I like the deco...only thing is ...they were not finished

I did these a couple weeks ago and never posted becasue I haven't figured out what labels to put on them...

but then that could take me a very long time,

 if ever do decide....lol...

so here I am to share them with you

They may not look like much...

but in my kitchen decor they match and look great ....

so here it goes

And Maybe you can help me with the labeling... won't you do that for me?

this was a dangerous job for me, becasue of my painting area

when I opened this embrella for some shade to do my work

It was jam backed with wasps and hornets.

you know how big those things are in Texas?

Trust me they are big, and scray

so me and my broom and my wasps spray went to work on them

I didn't spray them I sprayed the embrella so they flew away from it

And swept up the few sacrifised ones.

Whew then on to my work at hand

she sent me these lovelies

This cup is so cute and dainty...can you see the raised design

so pretty

the inside is decorated too

such a lovely design she chose for me

and the little extras, all so lovely...

 this package smelled so good

with the fragrane of lavender

 and the needle keep is so very cool

I am sure all these little extras will find a special place

in my studio

in a very long time..

I was anxious to get it to her.

She mailed ahead of me...I did't want her to wait

so I packed it all up and on its way

UPDATE! UPDATE! #2 Ribbon

I am still trudging away a little at a time on this ribbon... I have had three good sittings to work on this.. I feel like I am getting no where....lol... I cannot believe for the life of me where all this ribbon has come from. But I can tell you one thing I needed this badly now didn't I...GESH!

Still working out of the same two boxes

have moved to my 2nd organized box...

sorting by color....

then by solid color

  and then that colors prints
