Solder Christmas Charms

I had a few gifts to fill this year so I turned to my new found craft to help me out...

Solder Charms of all kinds

The first one is for my freinds family, she passed away this past October...I made them memorial charms to use as they like.. prally will hang off thier rear view mirrors.

and the back...soft and elegant

Then I wanted to make one for my Little brother...I had taken these family pictures when mom and dad both were with us....so they worked perfect for this gift..to hang on his rear view mirror...pssst! I bet this gift makes him cry...we haven't exchanged gifts in some time now...so this will be a surprise.

then last but not least I needed some jewelry for my Grand-daughter and she is so into Justin Bieber...who can blame her,. he is adorable... so this is a picture she had on a paper deal when she was here...the bead says teen on one side and love on the other side...how perfect uh.

wish I had taken a picture of the back side...I used a piece of his jacket and lettered it to say...I Love You.!
She will surely love it..

5 gifts down and counting..

A Special Gift

I recieved a handmade gift that will be special to me. It is done in a medium I don't do much of myself...but it is oh so beautiful. I cannot imagine the time it must have taken to make this.

My friend Sandy used to work with me , but has recently retired to the good life of crafting, lounging and sleeping in..lol...so is my vision of it.  ( I know she will laugh as she subscribes to this blog) She does lots of bead work and makes some awesome things with it ...including this bulb cover she gave me as a gift

Stunningly beautiful

I cannot imagine counting all these beads out...to make such a beautiful design

I know retirement isn't all funtimes... but I like to dream that it is...

Thanks so much Sandy... I cherish your freindship and this lovely gift too..

Happy Holidays

Angels for Christmas

Hey Y'all  well I have been having some more fun at the Merry Go Round Class Shop here in Fort Worth...I attended two different nights and we did angels on both, take a look at all these lovelies.... last week I made this stand up Angel named Shari

She is my new favorite project... I just love her and need to make her a freind in a Gold dress to match my Chrismtas colors

I got this Breast Cancer one started, but ran out of time to finish her
isn't she a beauty..cannot wait to see her done

I am looking lovely as always...lol... just kidding
working third shift the night before kinda wears on me, but how can I miss this much fun.
So you guys have to put up with my bad hair day.

Then this week we did more angels.. My tree is all Angels and Santas so this is a great class for me

I did this Funky girl from the scraps laying around on the table after everyone was done.
isn't she cute...Love her Long neck...

Then I made a Golden Grandma Angel

And a Pink Grand-daughter Angel

and ofcourse a Blue Grand-son Angel

that gave me a Grandma Angel with her Grand Angels

I so love this set...this will stay on my tree no giving this one away...

Happy Holidays Everyone

And to Larry and Vicki
thanks for all the fun projects see you again next year...

Snowman, Snowman...

I got a wild hair to recycle today...plus I needed a snowman gift....so I put my thinking cap on and come up with this guy...made from a yard light bulb...blown out one of course...the technique to get this texture is so very easy and I will reveal that some where with in this post for you to try... But look at my rustic little snow man guy

now isn't he just adorbale...well after making him I thought " how would he look made from a normal light bulb"   well guess what!!! he is still adorable

look at this snowy texture for a moment....can you tell how I did it...?

here it is

1 can white spray paint
gradulated sugar
light bulb
painters tape
place to spray paint safely

first tape off the the silver part of the light bulb with painters tape...then spray the blub all white...while still wet sprinkle on the sugar....if you miss some spots just spray and sugar again...let sit for a bit to dry...when completely dry re-spray the whole bulb white to seal the sugar...and wha~la! look at that texture...it will dry completely to a firm texture...
decorate as desired..
I left the silver part undone so it makes the hat easy to slide on and I can attach the hanger here also.

this is my new favorite thing to share this year...everywhere I go I am teaching my freinds how to do this texture.

Happy Snowy Holiday..
